Their fragrance has none of the sweet lemon vanilla scents of Daphne odora but is somewhat like a soft Indian incensevery alluring. Also unlike the D. odora, the D. tanguticas can tolerate some drought (once established). Slow growing and so worth it, forms a regular mound of small, thick, forest green, evergreen leaves.
