Unfortunately the portrait is extremely worn, to the point that only the subject's dress and hair remain. However, it is still a lovely antique curio and an important piece of artistic tradition. The painting is cased in a gilt tin frame that sits in a hinged Bakelite case. The back of the photo identifies the subject as Aunt Sarah Brown nee Price as painted in 1830. It further states
